WOOD & ENVIRONMENT

WOOD, A BIO-BASED MATERIAL

As a natural material, wood is ideal for construction and outdoor facilities.
During their growth phase, forests absorb carbon through photosynthesis. As a result, 1 m³ of wood absorbs 1 tonne of CO₂. Using wood means taking action for the environment.

WOOD, A SUSTAINABLE CHOICE

Wood is a noble, warm material that blends perfectly into all environments. However, wood installed outdoors is exposed to many natural threats such as insects, fungi, humidity and termites. That is why it is important to use wood suited to its use class. To ensure durability, outdoor wood must generally be compatible with Class 4.

Rondino has been a specialist in durable outdoor wood for over 140 years.
We have mainly used pine for many years to ensure the best durability for our equipment.

Pine is a local, available and renewable resource. It is one of the few species compatible with Class 4.

We also offer other wood species depending on the intended use, such as larch, robinia, oak, and more.

CTB B+ CERTIFICATION, A GUARANTEE OF QUALITY

CTB B+ certification confirms the compliance and effectiveness of the wood preservation process. This certification enables us to guarantee the best durability for our products installed outdoors and exposed to weather conditions.

SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT

We have always been committed to contributing to the balance of the natural environment, preserving and maintaining forests through responsible harvesting. Tree planting is also carried out to ensure forest renewal.

All products are recoverable and recyclable.

All by-products from our production are recovered as fuel to power our boilers and dryers, or used in the manufacture of wood panels, paper pulp and wood pellets.

PEFC CERTIFICATION

We work through short supply chains: the wood comes from forest areas close to our production sites in Lozère, Burgundy and the Vosges.

RONDINO offers products sourced from PEFC-certified forests. This voluntary approach provides a guarantee regarding the origin of wood harvested from sustainably managed forests.
